Job Description

Our client, a well-established accounting firm, is looking for a skilled and driven Accountant with close attention to detail to join their remote team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage bookkeeping, accounting, and month-end processes
  • Prepare and review financial statements for a diverse client portfolio
  • Handle VAT, PAYE, individual, company and trust tax matters, including SARS registrations, returns and reconciliations
  • Provide value-adding tax advice and help clients legally optimise their tax position
  • Prepare management reports, budgets, forecasts and financial analyses
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and ensure statutory compliance
  • Review and support the work of Trainee Accounting Clerks
  • Assist with CIPC and company statutory requirements
  • Build strong client relationships and provide professional, high-quality service
  • Lead, coach and support team members to achieve excellent results

Requirements:

  • BCom Accounting or RPL at NQF Level 6
  • Minimum 3 years’ accounting and tax experience
  • Previous team leadership experience is essential
  • Strong knowledge of South African tax legislation and accounting principles
  • Tax Practitioner registration is advantageous
  • Experience with Pastel/Sage and DraftWorx or CaseWare
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong computer literacy
  • Excellent communication, organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced remote environment
  • A genuine passion for client service, teamwork, learning and developing others
