Job Description

We are looking for ambitious, commercially minded individuals to join our team as Trainee Recruitment Consultants. No previous recruitment experience is required, as comprehensive training and ongoing support will be provided.

You will develop relationships with schools and education professionals across the UK, source suitable candidates, manage recruitment processes and work towards clearly defined activity and revenue targets.

Recruitment is a fast-paced, target-driven career that rewards resilience, consistency and strong communication. The position is particularly suited to graduates and individuals who want rapid career progression and performance-related earnings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with schools and education professionals.
  • Source candidates through job boards, advertisements, referrals and direct approaches.
  • Conduct candidate qualification and screening calls.
  • Understand candidates’ experience, availability, preferences and career objectives.
  • Write and publish accurate, engaging job advertisements.
  • Match suitable candidates to permanent and temporary vacancies.
  • Market candidates proactively to prospective clients.
  • Generate new business and identify opportunities within an assigned geographical area or specialism.
  • Arrange interviews and manage candidates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Negotiate offers, pay rates and start dates.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information within the company CRM.
  • Work closely with the compliance team to ensure candidates are cleared efficiently.
  • Achieve daily, weekly and monthly activity and revenue targets.
  • Complete required reports and administrative tasks accurately and on time.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence speaking with new people by telephone and video.
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Resilience and the ability to handle rejection.
  • A competitive and target-driven mindset.
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in sales.
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
  • A proactive approach and a high level of personal accountability.
  • Professionalism, integrity and attention to detail.

A university degree is beneficial but not essential. Experience in sales, customer service, hospitality, sport or another performance-focused environment would be advantageous.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive basic salary.
  • An uncapped commission structure.
  • Comprehensive recruitment and sales training.
  • Regular coaching and performance reviews.
  • Clear opportunities for progression.
  • The opportunity to develop a specialist recruitment market.
  • A collaborative, ambitious and performance-focused culture.
  • Recognition and rewards for strong performance.

Working Hours, Annual Leave and Block-Out Periods:

This is a full-time, office-based position, working five days per week.

Standard working hours are aligned with the UK education market and are 8:00am–6:00pm UK time, Monday to Friday. During busy term-time periods, consultants should expect to work longer hours—potentially up to 12 hours per day—to manage candidates, support clients and achieve performance targets.

During UK school half-term holidays, working hours are reduced to approximately 9:30am–3:30pm UK time.

The position includes:

  • 25 days of annual leave per year.
  • UK bank holidays in addition to annual leave.
  • Reduced working hours during UK school half terms.
  • Five days per week working from the office.

Annual Leave Block-Out Periods:

Due to the demands of the UK education recruitment calendar, annual leave will not normally be permitted during two key periods:

  • Approximately six weeks: From the end of the UK October half-term until schools close for the Christmas holidays.
  • Approximately twelve weeks: From the end of the UK May half-term until the end of the academic year.

These are the busiest and most commercially important periods of the year, so full attendance and commitment are required. Exact dates will be communicated in advance each academic year.

The position requires significant commitment and flexibility during term time. This is balanced by shorter hours during school half terms, 25 days of annual leave, UK bank holidays and uncapped commission.
