Sales Development Executive
Recruitment Agency Information
Job Specifications
The primary purpose of the role will be to open doors, start meaningful conversations and generate qualified new-business opportunities.
We already have a substantial amount of warm, targeted data within the Managed Print sector. These are businesses with identifiable print equipment, existing supplier arrangements and likely renewal opportunities, so the individual wouldn’t be starting with completely cold or unqualified lists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Make approximately 50–100 outbound calls per day, depending on the quality and length of conversations.
- Follow up prospects through email and LinkedIn.
- Speak confidently with business owners, Managing Directors, Finance Directors and other relevant decision-makers.
- Understand each organisation’s current Managed Print arrangements, supplier relationship and likely contract position.
- Book an average of one genuinely qualified discovery meeting per working day.
- Accurately record conversations, contract dates, opportunities and follow-up actions in Pipedrive.
- Nurture prospects who may not be ready to engage immediately.
- Provide feedback from the market to help improve messaging and future campaigns.
What Constitutes a Qualified Meeting:
A qualified meeting should be with an appropriate decision-maker and have a genuine reason for the conversation—for example, an approaching contract renewal, dissatisfaction with the current supplier, service issues, cost concerns or an interest in reviewing their existing arrangements.
The focus is on the quality and potential of the meetings rather than simply filling the diary.
Growth of the Role:
Managed Print will provide a relatively straightforward entry point into prospective customers. As the individual develops their knowledge of our company, the role can expand across our wider technology portfolio, including Managed IT, Cyber Security, AI and Automation, Cloud, Communications and Software.
Ideal Candidate:
Although consistent activity is important, we are not looking for a scripted or aggressive call-centre approach. Our reputation is built on trust, genuine conversations and long-term relationships.
The right person should:
- Be confident, personable, resilient, articulate and commercially curious.
- Be comfortable asking good questions and listening carefully to prospective customers.
- Be able to represent the company professionally when engaging with senior decision-makers.
- Be self-motivated, organised and able to take ownership of their activity and pipeline.
- Be comfortable working closely with senior management while managing their responsibilities independently.
Experience:
- Previous UK B2B outbound sales or appointment-setting experience is preferable.
- Experience within technology, telecoms, managed services or another consultative B2B environment would be advantageous.
